Terms of use
Last updated
These terms cover your use of payperiodcalculator.com, a free timesheet calculator run by Summercloude Pte. Ltd. ("we"). By using the site, you agree to them.
Results are estimates
The calculator helps you add up your hours and check your pay. Its results are estimates, not payroll, legal, tax or financial advice, and they don't replace your employer's records or advice from a professional. Your actual pay depends on your employer's policies, the laws where you work, and taxes and deductions.
How it calculates
- Overtime follows the federal weekly rule: hours over 40 in each workweek, at one and a half times the hourly rate you enter. It doesn't apply state or local rules, such as daily overtime.
- When rounding is on, each start and end time is rounded to the nearest step you choose (a time exactly halfway between two steps rounds up), then the unpaid break is taken off.
- A shift that ends at or before its start time counts as ending the next day, and counts in the week it starts.
- A day with only one of its two times, or with a break that is too long or not a whole number, is left out of the totals and named in the results.
- Times are taken as shown on the clock; the hour gained or lost when clocks change for daylight saving time isn't adjusted.
- Pay is gross pay, before taxes and deductions, calculated from exact minutes and rounded to the cent.
